Certified non-profit organization Dream times Possibility (DxP)
We are Certified non-profit organization in the field of education, Dream times Possibility(DxP), from 2012. We are supporting high school students with the vision “We will create a society where the youth can have hopes for their own future”.
We want change the issue of high school students in Japan. It’s a high dropout rate of part-time high school students. There are a significant number of part-time high school students in Japan who are suffering from issues such as poverty and domestic violence. The dropout rate for first year students is 21%, 14 times the corresponding rate for full-time high schools, and many of these cases are not for positive purposes, but for circumstantial, regretful reasons. In Japan, not having a high-school diploma is highly limiting employment options. Moreover, without a place or an organization to belong to, such as a school or a workplace, it becomes even more difficult to move on to the next step, causing higher rates of unemployment. We think the main cause of high dropout rate is lack of experience success and human relationship. So we produce programs for part-time high school students, which build sustainable continuous human relationship and give various opportunities of small success for their future. In detail, we hold class named “Crescendo”: Holding classes where students meet up and talk with volunteer members of the community. These classes are designed to foster a positive mindset towards the idea of “working” by creating an opportunity to meet trustworthy adults and lowering the stumbling block to communicating with others. And after the class, we provide many “Challenge Program”. For example, cooperating with other organizations and local governments, “World Challenge Charity” which send students to overseas cruise, “Art Exhibition” which display the students’ artworks, and “Local Internship” which send students to local works.
Programs to solve issues encountered in part-time high schools
Hold “classes” in collaboration with schools; make best use of the cafeteria in creating a “place of belonging”; support students in finding employment or pursuing further studies.

We build social capital within schools, with “Crescendo”: Holding classes where students meet up and talk with volunteer members of the community. And we launch“Igokochi Cafe” (Cozy Cafe) A program designed to create places within schools where students can feel comfortable and develop a sense of belonging. We hold “Igokochi Cafe” sessions (meals included) at cafeterias in schools on a weekly basis. Social capital will be built by enabling students to meet people on a regular basis. And more, as a next step, we hold employment support programs (This will be held from the second year onwards) Implement internship programs at corporations and training programs for employment.
